Who does qualify for Immigration to Canada?

There are 2 major streams of immigration to Canada:

I- Family Stream

To qualify for immigration as a member of the Family Class, a person has to be sponsored by a close relative in Canada.

II- Economic Immigration Stream

For this category there are different ways to obtain a Permanent Residence (PR) status:

1- Canadian Experience Class:

A successful applicant in this category should have studied in Canada or have been working in Canada under a Work Permit for a certain period of time.

2- Provincial Nominee Program:

  a. Applicant should have a qualified job offer from a Canadian employer, who is willing to submit an application to nominate the foreign worker.

  b. The applicant is willing to invest in a qualified business in a Canadian province.

3- Entrepreneur or an Investor:

To qualify in this category, an applicant has to demonstrate that they have business experience, certain level of wealth, and that they are willing to invest in Canada.

4- Skilled Workers Class:

For this category you have to collect 67 points on a special scale, and will need to have either:

  a. An Arranged Employment Offer (AEO) from a Canadian employer.

  b. Have at least one year of documented work experience within the last 10 years in one of the following occupation categories:

  • 0631 Restaurant and Food Service Managers
  • 0811 Primary Production Managers (Except Agriculture)
  • 1122 Professional Occupations in Business Services to Management
  • 1233 Insurance Adjusters and Claims Examiners
  • 2121 Biologists and Related Scientists
  • 2151 Architects
  • 3111 Specialist Physicians
  • 3112 General Practitioners and Family Physicians
  • 3113 Dentists
  • 3131 Pharmacists
  • 3142 Physiotherapists
  • 3152 Registered Nurses
  • 3215 Medical Radiation Technologists
  • 3222 Dental Hygienists & Dental Therapists
  • 3233 Licensed Practical Nurses
